Amani Counselling Center and Training Institute, established in 1979 is a voluntary association aimed at providing counselling services to people with emotional and psychological disorders. Regardless of this, the primary preparing system offered was on basic counselling skills. It was offered at certificate level in the early 1990s.

- Tailor making and organizing training workshops, seminars and short courses in response to societal needs from different organizations and institutions

The school’s vision is to realise persons and organizations in Kenya and beyond, who are empowered and wholesome. To help this actualise, Amani Counselling Centre and Training Institute has highly qualified staff who undertake in-service training regularly. Amani has Satellite Centres in Kisumu, Nyeri and Mombasa. This has changed the focal point of future projects, never again limiting them to a central office however growing to address the issues of networks outside Nairobi.
